March 21, 2016 at 6pm
Sue Healy Room, Ross House, 247 Flinders Lane, Melbourne

2016 will be an exciting year for campaigning at the Public Transport Not Traffic (PTNT) and the Public Transport Users Association (PTUA).  Not only is it the 40th anniversary of the organisation, we will face the federal election some time this year and also working a number of different campaigns including;

  • Campaigning for the introduction of Electronic buses on new fast, and frequent routes around Melbourne and Victoria that connect people to places they need to go.
  • Our Fairer Fines campaign campaigning around $75 on the spot penalty fares, treatment of passengers by Authorised officers and the Department of Transport.
  • Campaigning for the rail freight links to the Port of Melbourne which could move 3500 trucks out of the inner city road network per day within a year if built.
  • Looking at ways to ensure best public transport outcomes for level crossing removal program
  • Looking to build a fundraising team to build our resources to grow these campaigns.

Whilst the Andrews Labor government has announced a number of new initiatives we need to continue to push them to build a world class PT network in Melbourne.

At the briefing we will be talking to people more about these campaigns and discuss how you can get involved and support the campaign, be it locally in your community or directly through the PTUA/ PTNT office.

If you are interested in the attending but can't make this event please email or call 0418 288 110 to register your interest for a future briefing or discuss your interest directly.
