STOP heads out door-knocking in Carrum

Join the Sandbelt Transport Options Proponents (STOP) group as they talk with local residents about the unpopular East-West toll road as well as a whole world of public transport possibilities for Melbourne.

If you are keen to help out door-knocking, please RSVP below.

The prime objectives of STOP are to promote to the general public, incumbent MPs and upcoming election candidates that by diverting the $8 billion away from the East-West toll road, the following project might be achieved:

  • Building the Melbourne Metro Rail project in its’ entirety including the provision of the Parkville Railway Station
  • Construct the Southland Railway Station
  • Construct the Rowville Line to enable easy access to Monash University
  • Complete road separations along the Frankston Railway Line
  • Upgrade of the Frankston Line to enable the newer trains to use the line
  • Improvements to the signalling so that rail and road transport are synchronised
  • Higher frequency of trains on the Frankston Line
  • Opening of Rest Rooms on railway stations on the Frankston Line, and
  • Introduce safe bike racks at all stations and include bike areas on all trains to encourage the use of bikes as a feasible alternative means of travel.
